The best place in the Philippines. An island paradise at the base of Guimaras.
You get the whole island to yourself and your partner. Of course it costs an arm and a leg to stay here, but worth every centavo.

As soon as you arrive the island begins to work its magic on you. A smallish beach, with a shallow bay. And yet that bay is alive with its own coral reef. You peer off the boatside and see starfish, anemones, and colorful reef fish darting coral to coral. Flying fish too, if you’re lucky.

The beach greets you, its smallish at only 80 feet wide… but its yours for the duration of your stay. You leave your first footprints in the sand, a light shade of yellow oddly called “white sand”. The first things that you will see are the antique houses… lovingly taken apart from its original source, and rebuilt piece by piece on Isla Naburot. Everything inside is authentically antique… from the posts, each step, even the bath-tub seethes antiquity.

To the bay’s left you will see the cliff rising. And alongside it, rising with the island - a row of cleverly hidden huts… blending serenely into the cliffside.
At the islands’ center… the haven. A largish hut amply outfitted with sofabeds and hammocks. Of course, the dining table is its centerpiece. When the bell on the haven is rung, its either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The table is never devoid of fresh fruits, or seaweed salad. There’s plenty where they came from and far more in store.
As you wake up in the morning, you’ll see a raft in the middle of the bay. There’s folk fishing and snorkelling. What are they doing? Catching your next meal.
A trek around the islands’ paths will eventually lead you to the Whale-house. Literally, it houses the remnants of a long dead whale. No rotting flesh, but rather shiny white bones… reminiscent of a time when whales frequented the place. And if you’re lucky… perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of one… or two.
